North of the Line

North of the Line is the first issue to an ongoing magazine that explores the untold stories of Cyprus. Through blending documentary photography and including my own, as well as other’s personal narratives it seeks to shed light on the resilience, culture, and dual realities of Turkish & Greek Cypriots. The first issue aims to capture the spirit of a community that has endured decades of isolation while preserving its identity, traditions, and hope for a more connected future.

Each edition of the magazine delves into different aspects of life in Cyprus— this edition focuses on Northern Cyprus’ history, vibrant landscapes, and its people. From the enduring Beşparmak Mountains to the bustling markets of Lefkoşa, and from the serene beauty of Bellapais Monastery to the vibrant cultural hub of Büyük Han, the magazine highlights the moments, places, and individuals that define this region.

Serving more than a collection of stories to me; I want it to be a collaborative platform for dialogue for all Cypriots, not just Turkish.

This ongoing magazine is an invitation to engage, reflect, and connect with a part of the world that remains largely unrecognised yet profoundly inspiring.
